HIGH Wycombe took a huge step towards retaining their Home Counties Premier League title when they beat nearest rivals Tring Park by 152 runs on Saturday.
Wycombe scored 284-7 off their overs before bowling their hosts out for 132 to put a second successive title within touching distance.
They now hold a massive 69 point advantage over Tring, who drop down to third with four games to go. Banbury are second, still a whopping 64 points behind Wycombe.
Jamie Benning, 88, and skipper Matt Eyles, 68, took the game to Tring before Sohail Hussain, with figures of 6-41, finished them off.
High Wycombe host second from bottom Bishop’s Stortford next.
