WANDERERS boss Gary Waddock has appeared to suggest none of the clubs who have expressed an interest in star striker Stuart Beavon have met his valuation of the player.
The 25 goal striker missed this afternoon’s League Cup tie at Watford due to a sickness bug, at the end of a week where he had been strongly linked with a move to either Millwall or Preston North End.
Waddock said in his post-match press conference after the tie at Vicarage Road: “He’s a very good player who had an outstanding season last year. He’s still under contract with us and you guys will be the first to know if there’s anything from another club that meets the valuation of what we believe he’s worth.”
Referring to the former Weymouth man’s illness, the Blues boss said: “I got a text from him this morning to say he’d been up all night and he’d had an hour’s sleep.
“I spoke to him at about 7.30 this morning – that’s the story. He’s still here, unfortunately he was ill today.”
