BUCKS Olympic rowing hopefuls are in Portugal this week completing their final preparations ahead of the Olympic Games.
Men’s lightweight Olympic champions Zac Purchase and Mark Hunter, from Marlow and Lane End respectively, will be particularly keen to iron out their issues after a dismal World Cup Series.
Katherine Grainger and her double sculls partner Anna Watkins have no such worries after winning all three World Cup events, while Marlow’s Greg Searle and the men’s eights will be looking for whatever extra speed they can get in their bid to finally topple the Germans.
The British rowers left on Tuesday and don’t return to England until Monday, July 23.
