CARDIFF City made a move for Kadeem Harris after missing out on their top transfer target - former Wanderers winger Matty Phillips.
Sources close to the Welsh club have told the Bucks Free Press that Phillips was Bluebirds' boss Malky Mackay's top January window target.
A bid for the Aylesbury-born youngster was snubbed by Blackpool, with Seasiders manager Ian Holloway saying he would only sell him if a Premiership outfit made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
That prompted Mackay to turn his attentions to Harris, with the Carling Cup finalists having the 18-year-old watched on a number of occasions in recent months.
Wanderers turned down a £50,000 bid for the winger from Fulham in the summer but have decided to cash in him now.
Harris is considered a long-term investment by Mackay, who has a history of developing players. The Scot signed Will Buckley and Stephen McGinn for his former side Watford, with the pair being used infrequently in their first six months before securing starting places the following season.
