PLAYING against former club Brentford is just another game for Wanderers full-back Danny Foster.
The defender makes his first trip back to Griffin Park on Saturday as Blues face the team he made 36 appearances for in his only season with the Bees before moving to Adams Park in summer 2010.
And although he’s expecting some banter off his old team-mates, Foster won’t be approaching this game any differently to any other.
He said: “I don’t really think of it as a former club and going back there. I’m a Wycombe player and I’m looking forward. It’ll just be another game really.
“One of my best mates Sam Saunders is there so it’ll be interesting if he’s playing. I’ll look forward to seeing who comes out on top on the day.”
Wanderers go into the short trip to west London on the back of a confidence boosting win against Rochdale – but although it was the shot in the arm Blues needed, Foster has warned against getting carried away by the significance of the result.
He said: “I don’t know about turning points, I don’t want to get carried away. It’s one game at a time. It’s important we won today because we felt we were unlucky last week at Preston – we felt we should have got something out of it. We look forward to a good game against Brentford next week.”
And he’s called on the rest of the side to reproduce Saturday’s hard-working display in a bid to keep another clean sheet.
The defender said: “It’s disappointing to not keep clean sheets but it’s a team thing. We defend from the front and if we can tighten up all over the park, that should lead to clean sheets and a few more points.
“Hopefully we can put in a shift like we did today and get some points.”
