WANDERERS' survival hopes have been dealt a blow after striker Marcello Trotta turned down an extension to his loan deal.
The Italian forward wants a loan move to a Championship side after his two month spell at Adams Park came to an end.
He scored eight goals in eight games for Wanderers, including a hat-trick against Exeter City on Boxing Day, during his loan period from Premier League Fulham.
Blues boss Gary Waddock told the club website: "Marcello was a model professional during his time with us and I'd like to thank him and Martin Jol for allowing him to spend the last two months here.
"He scored some very important goals for us and was very popular with the players and the fans, so we'll keep an eye on his progress and I have no doubt that he will go on to fulfil his potential at a higher level."
Trotta said: "I've had a wonderful time at Wycombe Wanderers and cannot thank the manager, Gary Waddock, enough for giving me an opportunity to play many matches during my loan spell.
"The players and all of the staff made me feel welcome and immediately part of the set-up.
"I would also like to thank the fans for their loyal support of the team and the affection they showed towards me personally, since I made my debut against MK Dons.
"I wish the team all the very best for the rest of the season and I will be keeping an eye out for results and I hope to get back to Adams Park soon, this time as a fan to cheer on the team.”
