GARY Waddock said he felt worse after being thrashed by Huddersfield on Friday than he did when Wanderers were relegated.

'Embarrassing' and 'unacceptable' was how the Blues boss described the 6-0 hammering in the immediate post-match inquest and he said it was the lowest point of his two and a half years in the Adams Park hotseat.

He said he felt worse after Friday night's shambles than he did when relegation from League One was confirmed with a 2-0 defeat at Leyton Orient on the penultimate day of the 2009-10 season.

It's also the second time Waddock's side have shipped half a dozen against Huddersfield live on TV, but the previous occasion was just his fifth match in charge of Blues and he hadn't had chance to make his mark on the team.

Waddock said: "That's the lowest point since I've been here by quite some way. We had the relegation, the result up at Huddersfield live on Sky before, but that was a hard one to take on Friday.

"Was it worse than the Orient game? By far.

"I was very low when I got home and on Saturday morning, but what do you do? Do you dwell on it or do you put it to bed and move on? There's nothing you can do or anyone else can do - it's a case of moving on and we need a response and reaction."

After the game the Wanderers boss mulled over whether to bring the players in for extra training at the weekend but decided against it.

He says he's not watched the video nasty of Friday's performance again, preferring instead to let the players get the game out of their system on the training ground.

The Blues boss said: "I didn't view the game. I didn't feel I had to. I watched it once live. The players know and I know we didn't show what we are about."

In the build-up to the game Waddock had called for a reaction from his players after another poor display preceeded it in a tame 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth and he said: "We got a reaction but it wasn't one we were looking for, it was a negative reaction."
