BLUES boss Gary Waddock has demanded a reaction from his players after their shocking show at Bournemouth.

He threatened to ring the changes for tonight's televised clash against high-flying Huddersfield Town, saying only midfielder Matt Bloomfield and goalkeeper Nikki Bull are guaranteed starts.

They were the only players to come out of the Dean Court horror show with any credit as the Cherries ripped Wanderers apart.

And Waddock wants the other nine players who take the field to stand up and be counted as Wanderers bid to get back out of the relegation zone.

He said: "I'll be demanding a performance but knowing the group of players we've got they'll be demanding one as well.

"We need to put one in against Huddersfield because they are a very good side. We have to perform, there's no ifs, buts or maybes, we've got to do it.

"We didn't deserve anything at Bournemouth but we have to make sure we perform tomorrow."

In the immediate post-match aftermath Waddock said there had been "no reaction" from his players during the Bournemouth game, which Blues were relieved to only lose 2-0.

Having had time to reflect on the game he said: "It wasn't necessarily the attitude but I was annoyed at the performance. We didn't turn up and I made it quite clear I wasn't happy it.

"Leading up to that game, including the Stevenage game, the lads have performed reasonably well. We should have got something from that game. The Bournemouth game was a big let-down considering we'd taken some steps forward. We took a couple of steps backwards in that game."

Waddock added he regretted his post-match comments where he said nine places in the team were up for grabs.

He said: "I have thought more about my comment. I was frustrated, angry and annoyed after the game and said it in the heat of the moment. I may have to back down on that comment but I was frustrated like everybody else."
