NIKKI Bull and Matt Bloomfield are the only Wycombe Wanderers guaranteed a place in the team to play Huddersfield on Friday night, said an angry Gary Waddock.

The Blues boss was left incandescent with rage at a poor display from his side during this afternoon’s 2-0 loss at Bournemouth.

He pulled no punches in his assessment of the game, saying there was “no reaction” from any of his players as the Cherries ripped them apart.

Only Bull’s saves and a bustling midfield display from Bloomfield stopped them from an even heavier defeat and Waddock said the other nine places in the side are now up for grabs.

Asked if anyone else is guaranteed a space in the team, Waddock said: “None of them are – it doesn’t matter what they have done in the last couple of weeks, that’s happened. That’s history. It’s what you do in the present. Those two players have come off with some credit.”

He hit out at the way Wanderers defended as Bournemouth capitalised on two mistakes to score the goals that confirmed the win.

But he said that had been the story of Blues’ season.

Waddock said: “If you defend like that and concede goals like that, you end up getting a defeat.

“Bully’s pulled off a number of saves – the scoreline could have been more. If we continue to give sloppy goals away, that’s what happens.

“For me there was no reaction as soon as the whistle went today, none whatsoever.

“We’ve given some really sloppy goals away this season and we’ve had a mountain to climb in a lot of games we’ve gone into.

“It’s more than a step backwards. We didn’t turn up. They were on the front foot straight away and we were unable to cope with that.

“We never gave ourselves a chance in the game.”
