JOEL Grant said he was happy his goal helped his team’s defence.
Wanderers were forced to field full-back Danny Foster at centre half after Dave Winfield fell ill on the morning of the game, and it looked like it was going to be a long afternoon for their reshuffled back four as Blues fell behind after just 45 seconds.
But they stood up to everything thrown at them by the imposing Ben Burgess and Lee Hughes and Grant said his last minute goal was reward for their spirit.
He said: “With Dave Winfield out, he came out early this morning, we had to shuffle around. I thought Marvin McCoy came in and did well, Fossie was excellent at the back.
“I’m delighted for the back four. Sometimes when you’re losing it’s easy to blame the defence, so to get a goal and help them get a point – I’m happy for everyone.”
