ANY club would feel the impact of Shaun Edwards leaving their coaching set-up, but Wasps director of rugby Dai Young says it will be business as usual.
He said: “You don’t miss something you’ve never had. I’ve never had Shaun or [Simon] Shaw. They’re good at what they do, but I’ve had to plan without them and we’re well down that path.
“When I was offered the job I said I wanted to bring a backs coach in because I didn’t see one.
“Shaun was head coach but I thought we needed a backs coach so we brought Paul [Turner] in. Paul wasn’t part of my deal coming in.
“He does the backs and attack, Trevor [Woodman] does the forwards and Rob Hoadley has been doing the defence.
“He’s had to do it for the last five months and stepped in for big periods last season when Shaun was away.
“I see Rob taking that role on until the end of the season and we’ll review things, as any team would, then.
“That’s been my coaching team since I’ve been here. We’re a good team. There is no number two but they all have important roles in the coaching team.”
