A TEAM of young carers will be given star treatment at the next game of Wycombe Wanderers.
A squad of 25 youngsters from Aylesbury will be given a tour of the ground, visit the dressing room area and meet some of the players before the Chairboys take on Torquay United on Saturday.
Gavin Peters, from Carers Bucks, is thrilled to have received support from the League Two side.
He said: "The support of Wycombe Wanderers means that we can give these 25 young carers an unforgettable day.
"Because they are caring for a mother, father, brother, sister, granny or other family member, young carers often take on responsibilities that adults would usually do, like preparing meals, washing up, helping someone get dressed, cleaning or even making sure their loved one takes their medication.
"We at the Carers Bucks young carers team do what we can to make their lives easier. We organise outings, have monthly get-togethers, and also offer one-to-one support. "
He added: "We offer them the support they need to help with their caring role, but very importantly, we give them the chance to be children."
Alan Hutchinson, from Wanderers, said, "We are very pleased to be having a visit from Young Carers Bucks for our match with Torquay United.
"Here at Wycombe we are proud that our facilities are suitable for everyone."
