ROWING: The 40th running of the Marlow Long Distance Sculls takes place tomorrow on the Cookham to Marlow reach of the Thames.
There are two events being run this year, with the Championship Sculls covering the full 4,800m course from Cookham Sailing Club to Marlow Rugby Club.
Entries have doubled from last year with 147 single and 17 doubles ready to race.
Defending champion and former international Guy Pooley from Crabtree BC is back again to defend the title he has held since 2001, while Marlow RC have the largest entry, with 62 scullers and four doubles entered for the championship sculls, They also have 18 boats entered in the Novices Head, a 2,400m race for those new to the sport.
This starts at 11am from just above the Bourne End Marina.
