WANDERERS boss John Gorman has been crowned League Two manager of the month.
The Scot scooped the award for masterminding The Chairboys' 12-match unbeaten start to the league season and hoisting them up to third in the table.
Along with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho he is the only manager in all four divisions of English football not to have lost a league match yet and Wycombe have played four more games than the Premiership champions.
It is Gorman's first award since going solo as a manager.
But the former England assistant manager, who was Glenn Hoddle's right hand man at Tottenham, Southampton and at international level, says he would gladly swap his accolade for three points in tonight's top versus third clash at Grimsby Town (ko 7.45pm).
He said: "It is great to get the award. It is an honour for everyone connected at the club. It is my name on it but it is down to all the coaching staff and the players. It's a team effort.
"I'm delighted to get it but I would honestly swap it for three points at Grimsby.
"It is always nice to win awards but it is the prizes that are handed out in May that really count."
Gorman was given the Manager of the Month award for September during which time his team scored 12 goals in five league games and gave Aston Villa the fright of their lives by knocking another three goals past them in the Carling Cup before finally succumbing 8-3.
Now Gorman is hoping to avoid the curse that normally goes with it.
He said: "Traditionally the manager that wins the Manager of the Month award goes on to lose their next game. It is known as the kiss of death.
"But my award was for September and we've drawn 3-3 with Chester since then so I am hoping that's our bad result that comes with the award out of the way already."
Gorman is the second Wanderer to be honoured by the Football League this season.
Top scorer Nathan Tyson, who is interesting several bigger clubs, was crowned the League Two Player of the Month earlier this season.
