PAUL Sackey is set to take on London Irish for the first time since his transfer to Wasps last season when his new club visit the Madejski Stadium on Sunday (ko 3pm) in the Powergen Cup.
The winger came to Wasps in February after a sparkling career at the Exiles but Sunday will be his first chance to show his old club what they are missing. Fellow ex-exile Rob Hoadley will also be looking to feature but he could miss out as director of rugby Ian McGeechan looks to maintain Wasps' start to the season.
That would mean keeping Stuart Abbott and Ayoola Erinle as centres, with Fraser Waters standing by.
McGeechan has to make a couple of enforced changes, with Ben Gotting coming in for Raphael Ibanez, after the hooker sustained rib damage during Wasps' win over Worcester.
Martin Purdy also misses out after damaging his eye. His place could be taken by John Hart, with Johnny O'Connor coming back in at openside.
Tom Voyce is fit to play despite needing stitches in a nasty mouth wound late on during Wasps' 34-20 win at the weekend.
London Irish, meanwhile, have been breathing a sigh of relief this week after their flanker Olivier Magne had his yellow card overturned from their weekend game against Bristol.
The French international was sin-binned by Roy Maybank after the ref had been nudged in the back. The incident could have led to a lengthy ban for Magne if the RFU had taken it up further but, after viewing the television evidence, Maybank decided to rescind the yellow card.
Exiles kicker Barry Everitt will be on a high at the weekend after he became the first player to kick 1,5000 points for London Irish last Saturday.
