JOSH Lewsey reckons his Wasps side have still to hit top form even though they are second in the league and unbeaten.
The Wasps winger has missed the start of the season due to a shoulder operation but he has watched enough to know that another good season is on the cards.
He said: "I think we can have a really, really special year this year as long as we stay injury-free.
"We're not at our best by any stretch of the imagination but we're still winning games. We've got the propensity to step it up and that's what we've got to do.
"The way the boys have played so far without Simon Shawsy, Lawrence Dallaglio or myself is testament to how the general standard of the club has improved.
"A way the club's improved dramatically over the past three years is that three years ago, we probably had 16-17 players who you could put in a big Euoropean game and feel they could do a job.
"Now there's strength throughout the whole team. We've got lads like Thom Evans coming in and making us feel like old fellows."
Lewsey, who was named in Andy Robinson's England squad on Tuesday, is raring to get back in the action.
He said: "Watch this space. Fingers crossed, I'd like to be back involved in the next couple of weeks. It's just about getting a bit of confidence in the arm back and building up strength."
