CHALFONT gave themselves an excellent opportunity of progressing in the Associate Members Trophy with a 2-1 win over rivals Flackwell Heath.
The two sides met on Tuesday night each with an eye on making it through to the competition's quarter finals.
And it was the Heathens who drew first blood after 14 minutes when Neil Hanson headed in a free kick.
The goal inspired the visitors and they dominated the remaining 45 minutes and should have extended their lead but Danny Dunnell and James Suarez both missed chances.
Saints came out fighting after the break and equalised when Lee Cotsford converted a Lee Togwell cross on 58 minutes.
They went ahead shortly after when Barry Brosnan netted from Pardeep Ghattora's pass.
Both sides experienced a reversal of fortunes last Saturday when they continued their league campaigns.
The Heathens ran out 4-0 winners at home to Wembley and could easily have inflicted a heavier defeat had Ryan Newman not missed a second minute penalty.
Gordon Hill did find the net ten minutes later and his goal was followed by a successful spot kick from Suarez right on half time.
Ashley Smith added a third on 63 minutes and Danny Burnell completed the scoring with six minutes remaining.
Chalfont went down 3-2 at home to Epsom & Ewell courtesy of two goals from Dale Narvell and one for Adam Stones.
John Carroll and Adam Bunce had earlier given the hosts a 2-1 lead.
Chalfont are away to Sawbridgeworth Town in the FA Vase today(ko 3pm).
Meanwhile, Flackwell travel to Camberley Town in the league (ko 3pm).
