MARK van Gisbergen equalled Jonny Wilkinson's record of 28 successive kicks at goal on Sunday.
The Wasps full back landed a difficult conversion two minutes into his team's match against at home to Worcester to make it 28 kicks out of 28.
But van Gisbergen failed in his attempt to make it 29 on the stroke of half time.
Wasps were awarded a penalty 45 metres out and the kick at goal was the correct option.
It was a long way out and the wind was against him but van Gisbergen refused to back down, only to see his effort sail wide of the posts.
But van Gisbergen's kicking and all round play has earned him a place in Andy Robinson's England squad for their Autumn internationals.
