SWIMMING: Amersham's juniors excelled at the weekend with their A team securing 12 first places and the B team grabbing 13 firsts.
The A team were competing in the grand final for the top six teams in their league and came third with 162 points.
There were victories for Sophie Leech in the U11 50m backstroke, Megan Davies in the U10 50m backstroke and Katherine Shaw in the U11 50m butterfly.
Max Elphick won the U9 25m backstroke, while Dan Barraclough came first in the U10 25m butterfly and Alessandra Quincey scooped the U10 50m freestyle. Sophie Elphick came first in the 50m breaststroke.
There were also wins in the relays for Davis, Millie Price, Evie Lees and Quincey in the U10 freestyle and medley, while Francesca Allen, Elphick, Shaw and Leech won the U11 freestyle and medley relay.
For the B team, Ben Levart won the U9 freestyle and backstroke, Mark Wormley won the U11 butterfly and freestyle and Cameron Doogan lifted the U10 breaststroke.
There were also golds for Stefan Majek in the U11 backstroke, Brandon Plumb in the U9 breaststroke, Annabel Lunnon in the U10 backstroke and Carrick Blore in the U10 freestyle.
There were relay wins for the U10 freestyle team, made up of Chris Green, Elliot Lewis, Doogan and Blore, the U11 medley team of Doogan, Lewis, Wormley and Majek, the U9 freestyle team of Dominic Quincey, Tom Harrison, Henry Bowcock and Ben Levart and the U11 freestyle team of Blore, Nathan Campbell White, Majek and Wormley.
The B team finished second their highest ever placing and against five A teams.
