Cricket: As I write this article the Second Test is only hours from starting, albeit a little lower key than the First Test.
England have decided to concentrate on their game before this Test match instead of their journalism skills which is encouraging. England must win this Test to keep the series alive and I for one will be backing England.
After all, what fun will the remaining Tests be if we already have the Ashes in Ricky's bag?
We are showing no signs of complacency in our quest for the holy grail' and our methodical win at the weekend demonstrated our desire to finish the season strongly.
We easily accounted for North Mymms bowling them out for 89 thanks to three top order wickets from myself and a cheeky four tail-end wickets to Mark Wright.
Just for good measure Wrighty completed a run out in the field and then struck 66 not out. Let's hope the captain sticks with him for next week's game, he's sure to perform soon.
The high calibre fielding of Wrighty' didn't rub off on Norman' Haynes, however. Obviously he has been watching too much of Geraint Jones.
In his defence, he does have Bert's antique gloves from the 1981/82 Australian tour. Consequently I have launched the Norman Haynes Foundation' to fund a new pair of keeping gloves for Haynesy' since all his money is spent on razor blades to keep his beard in check.
Donations can be left in the gloves at the bar on Saturday.
The weather helped our cause at the weekend with many of the top teams being affected by rain including our rivals Slough. Local weatherman Robbie Jones successfully predicted that If you can't see the spire, it's raining in Slough'.
We now look forward to two home games in the coming weeks that could seal our position at the top of the ladder.
The belief amongst the team is very strong, without being over confident, and we will be looking to close the door on all challengers in the next two weeks.
Come along and help enjoy the success of the Warriors.
