BUCKS Chilterns University College recently staged the second Government-sponsored soccer summer school as part of a Government initiative to encourage young people from less traditional backgrounds to consider higher education.
The school, which was supported by the FA, saw 21 teenagers from across England spend seven days at the college honing their football skills, as well as learning more about what life would be like as a university student.
National Development Manager for the FA, Donna McIvor said: "We were delighted to support BCUC in their football school.
"The students really enjoyed achieving their junior football organisers young leaders award."
Highlights of the week included a visit to Stamford Bridge, home of Premiership Champions, Chelsea, and the chance to meet former England footballer-turned media pundit Trevor Brooking, at a dinner held at Adams Park. Sir Trevor also awarded the students their coaching awards.
