WANDERERS are close to agreeing a job share agreement with former England international John Salako.
The Blues are confident of reaching a deal which will allow the 36-year-old left-sided player to combine his playing duties with his work as a pundit for Sky Sports.
Sky want him for their Saturday show with Jeff Stelling but Wycombe boss John Gorman has had talks with Sky and is confident a deal can be worked out which would suit all parties and enable him to call on the former Crystal Palace, Brentford, Fulham and Coventry ace when he needs him.
Salako is keen to combine both roles.
He said: "I'd like to think I could be an important part of the squad and play a part in the season."
But he added: "I've done Sky before in the past and it's a good avenue for me when my football career finishes.
"I am realistic and television is hopefully going to be the future whereas football is winding down for me.
"But I still feel I have a hell of a lot to offer."
Blues are hoping Basingstoke will allow their Argentine midfielder Sergio Torres to continue to train with them.
He starred against Wanderers in a pre-season game for Basingstoke and Blues then invited him to play in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Stevenage and have also had him in for training twice this week.
Wycombe are hoping Basingstoke boss Ernie Howe will continue to allow him to train with them while they monitor his progress Assistant boss Steve Brown reckons the new transfer window will help Blues' promotion bid.
For the first time this season clubs in the Football League are banned from buying and selling players outside the summer break and for the month of January Brown says it will mean that the managers who are the best coaches will prosper and with Blues boss John Gorman having coached England and Spurs, Wycombe are top in that department.
Brown said: "It will benefit the teams with the best coaches because instead of being able to sign a new player managers will have to make the best out of what they've got."
The football club are relaunching their Wanderers World service on their official website on Monday.
To coincide with the launch, editor James Skitt, with Matt Beadle and Alan Hutchinson have produced a series of film clips charting the earliest days of Wanderers' history from the days when the club was run from the old Nag's Head Public House, Former Chairboy Stuart Roberts has joined Aberyswyth Town.
