HIGH Wycombe went 43 points clear at the top of Division One after an emphatic ten wicket victory over North Mymms.
After a good start by North Mymms' openers, Wycombe got in amongst them thanks to good bowling by Dan Senior (3-32) and Paul Sawyer (1-25).
North Mymms were struggling on 81-6 when Mark Wright took centre stage. He took 4-10 off seven overs, with North Mymms losing their last four wickets for just eight runs.
In reply, Wycombe wasted no time reaching their target. Wright hit 66 and Matt Eyles 22 as Wycombe raced to 91-0 off 15 overs to claim the 25 points.
And the win, coupled with a defeat for Slough, means Wycombe have increased their lead at the top of the Home Counties Premier with five games to go.
In Division Two West, Gerrards Cross stormed into second place in their biggest ever win.
They thrashed Bicester & North Oxford by a massive 248 runs, with Bicester who started the day in second place bowled out for 35.
Batting first, Gerrards Cross began like a train, with 16-year-old Alex Hales carrying on where he left off, with an impressive 61 to go alongside last week's century.
The star of the show was skipper Alex Duncan. He belted an unbeaten 125 as the Cross declared on 283-2 after 58 overs.
In reply, Bicester were 13-6 as Stefan Read bowled quickly and accurately. He finished with 6-17 but it looked like the weather had saved them when the rains came after they had reached 35-9.
But Read took the all-important final wicket with nine balls to go to wrap up an astonishing win for the Cross. They are now on 193 points, six better of Thame Town who were thwarted by the weather against Aston Rowant on Saturday.
Beaconsfield were also annoyed after rain forced their match to be prematurely concluded.
Greg Mann struck an unbeaten century as Becky posted 178-5 in 57 overs. In reply, Farnham Royal were struggling on 40-3 off 18 overs, with Beaconsfield looking set for the win.
A victory would have seen them rise to third place but the draw following the abandonment, means Becky are in seventh position.
