NICOLA Sanders has capped a terrific season by qualifying for the World Championships in Helsinki this month.
The Amersham resident, who runs for Windsor, Slough, Eton and Hounslow AC, was named in the GB squad on Monday and she can't wait to get out there.
The 23-year-old said: "I'm really pleased.
"I knew it was on the cards and it will be a really good experience."
Sanders will race in the 400m hurdles and is also in the 400m relay squad, where Britain have a chance of a medal.
She said: "We've got a good chance of doing fairly well we came fourth in the Olympics so that will be really exciting.
"I've got the fourth fastest time in the squad but I've only done one race so I'll have to wait and see whether I get picked."
Sanders is just hoping to improve her time in her individual event.
She said: "I'm not expecting too much of myself.
"I just want to run a personal best.
"The girls at the top run two seconds faster so it will be tough to get through the heats.
"It will be good to gain championship experience which is something I've not gained before."
The squad go off to Helsinki on Monday to get used to the conditions before the championships start on August 6.
