SUPERFIT Neil Thubron completed seven marathons in a week each by a different method.
The Chiltern Harrier's magnificent seven consisted of both road and cross-country running; cycling and mountain biking; machine rowing, canoeing and multi-sport.
And the ultra-fit athlete showed his prowess as he completed each 26.1 mile marathon to finish fourth overall in the seven-up challenge in a combined time of 21 hours 20 minutes Day One was an off-road coastal marathon which he won in 4hrs 20 mins. Day Two was a hilly mountain-bike marathon over tricky forest paths where he finished fourth in 2hrs 30 mins.
Day Three was spent on the rowing machines where he came ninth in 3hrs, 10mins. Then it was the road marathon across Dartmoor, where he came second in 3hrs, 20mins Day Five was dedicated to seven hours of canoeing and Day Six was a roadcycling marathon where he was fifth in 1hr 24mins.
The race then finished with a medley of events with a four-mile canoe, six mile run and 16-mile bike ride where again he was fourth in 3 hours, 14 mins.
He said: "It was a brilliant week. I was running with some top endurance athletes and I was pleased with my times and my placing.
"And it all finished with a massive party at the end."
