WYCOMBE Phoenix Harriers won their Southern Women's League match at Handy Cross on Saturday.

Sue Aphergis was instrumental in the victory with a triple win in the 800m, 1,500m and 3,000m.

She was supported by Gemma Brill's second place in the B string 800m and Lucy Rogers taking second in the B string 3,000m.

There was a 400m double success, with Sophie Coates winning the A race and Corin Hogg doing likewise in the B string event.

Jenna Thompson came second in the 300m hurdles and followed that up with second in the 80m hurdles. Grace Flower and Holly Jung followed suit with second places in the 75m hurdles.

In the U15 girls, Katherine Forde won the 800m, with Sophie Brown taking third place.

In the field, Laura Patterson and Judy Turton won the A and B strings of the pole vault, with Patterson also winning the javelin.

There was an U15 shot putt one, two for Khaley Woolnough and Jodie Lewin, while the long jump produced silvers from Emma Davis and Haley Knowles, with Alice Groom and Sam Darvel following suit in the high jump.

Haley Knowles and Hannah Groom came first and second in the U15 high jump while Aphergis, Hogg, Liz Rzeweski and Coates won the 4x400m relay to cap an excellent day.

On Sunday, Phoenix Harriers were in action in the final match of the National Junior League.

Laura Groom had a winning throw in the hammer with a new personal best of 21.99m.

Patterson broke her personal best in the triple jump with a winning leap of 10.05m.

There were double wins in the pole vault for Sam Darvell and Alice Groom, with Groom adding second place in the high jump and third in the long jump.

It was 2nd places in the men's shot for Peter Elder and Carl Summerfield 8.09m, with Ian Turton 39.12m and Carl Summerfield coming second in the hammer.

On the track, a new pb came from Eliot Smith who finished second in the 200m.

Lucy Rogers produced her best time of the season in the 1500m to cross the line in second place, while there was a third place for Lewis Riseley in the men's 1,500m.

Olli Girdler and Tim Henshaw came second in their respective 800m races, with Henshaw also finished second in the 400m and third in the 400m hurdles.

The match finished with the Phoenix ladies finishing second and the men third.
