CHESHAM boss Steve Bateman has had talks with keeper Alan Foster about him coming to Meadow.
Bateman spoke with the former Thame player before Chesham's 1-1 with the Windmill Roaders on Saturday.
He then played during Chesham's 2-0 win at Welwyn Garden City on Tuesday and Bateman is considering bringing him in permanently.
Former Hemel glovesman Darren Bonfield has already signed for Chesham but Bateman is keen to have two keepers.
He said: "Alan did everything asked of him on Tuesday - he just needs more time in the middle.
"I'm looking to see if we can agree something with both Darren and Alan. They're both experienced goalkeepers but we've got to have competition in all areas.
"Alan is a big experienced keeper who's played at this level and can cope with it comfortably.
"I spoke to him last year but he was away at the wrong time when I was looking for a keeper.
"He's away again this year but he's capable of doing a job.
"Darren Bonfield missed a lot of football last year and he had to play with his fingers strapped up.
"We'll just have to wait and see how the situation develops."
Bateman was impressed with Tuesday's 2-0 win, sealed by goals by Matt Skinner and Gary Sippetts.
He said: "Overall I'm pleased. We've set things up differently this season. Last year, we were so-called underdogs against better opposition and I was hoping we would raise our level of performance.
"This year, the boot is on the other foot.
"We're playing a number of sides who we are better than on paper. They're working hard and they've been good tests for us.
"Thame was a good test for us and it was the same on Tuesday.
Today sees another test when Chesham visit Hemel Hempstead (ko 3pm).
Bateman is without John Lawford and is unlikely to risk right back Andre Scarlett or Paul Aldridge but central defender Matt Corbould has shrugged off a virus, while Simon Sweeney is available after completing 75 minutes on Tuesday.
