Cricket: MARK Wright scored his third century in three weeks to help Wycombe increase their lead at the top of the Home Counties Premier League on Saturday.
The Warriors opener remained in sparkling form as Wycombe secured a winning draw against Slough to go 25 points clear at the top of the table.
With six games to go in the league, Warriors are now clear favourites to regain the Home Counties title which they relinquished to Henley last season.
On Saturday, they batted first against second-placed Slough, with Wright making sure of a good start.
He shared a century partnership with Jason Harrison (53) as Wycombe finished on 299-3 off 66 overs, with Wright making a superb 127.
The century means he has scored an amazing 429 runs in the last three weeks at an average of more than 100.
In reply, Slough started well when Russell Lane hit out.
He managed 57 before he was out but then the run rate slowed.
Slough eventually gave up the chase and settled for the draw, eventually finishing on 235-6.
The 13 points Wycombe gained for the draw means they have increased their lead and can afford one slip up in their Home Counties Premier title chase.
In Division Two West, A maiden league century from 16-year-old Alex Hales secured Gerrards Cross' third consecutive league victory by 97 runs against local rivals Beaconsfield.
Hales hit an unbeaten 121 off 150 balls, including seven sixes, and shared partnerships of 66 with Luke Walker (19) and 169 with skipper Alan Duncan (79).
Mark Shepherd smashed 36 off 18 balls as the Cross declared after 56 overs on 283-3.
Beaconsfield lost two wickets before a run was scored and were in further trouble at 99-7 as Stefan Read, after a lengthy injury lay-off, took 4-53.
Greg Mann hit 62 in an eighth wicket stand of 58 before Mark Morgan wrapped things up by taking 3-18.
The Cross leapfrog Beaconsfield in the table, moving up to fifth place six points behind Thame Town.
Thame suffered another defeat at the weekend, going down by 153 runs to Bicester & North Oxfordshire.
Bicester scored 265-7 thanks to Gary Sansome's 91 and 51 from Tauqueer Hussain. In reply, Thame were bowled out for 112 to leave them in fourth place.
