WANDERERS boss John Gorman says he will continue to search for a left back but has warned that whoever comes in will have to be very, very good' to take Clint Easton's position.
Gorman wants cover there but he will warn them that ousting Easton will be a big job.
He said: "People doubted me when I put Clint there but now he has become a good left back. He's good in defence and a good attacker.
"Anyone who comes in will have to be very good to get Clint's place."
Easton has been one of the stars of pre-season and the former Norwich and Watford man has already seen off Chris Carruthers.
Carruthers agreed to join Wanderers but then backed out of the deal and joined Bristol Rovers when he realised he would have to get past Easton first to get into the team.
And Easton insists he is ready to take on all-comers for his place.
He said: "You need competition and I don't mind that. Competition keeps you on your toes but I want to play every week and that's what I will be trying to do.
Easton added: "When I first got put in at left back I was a little bit shocked. I spoke to the gaffer about it and he reassured me that I would get a lot of the ball and I'm starting tom really like it now and I see myself as a full back first.
"I really enjoy it. I see it as my position now and the way we play with the full backs pushing up I've still got licence to attack.
"I get forward more now than when I was in midfield."
