CYCLING: Steve Golla sliced 40 seconds from his previous ten-mile time competing in the Lampard Road Club race at Leighton Buzzard on Saturday.
He finished third in 22 minutes and nine seconds, with Neill Coventry clocking 22.50.
Another personal best came the following morning in the Sanjan Designs 25-mile time trial in Bedford when Golla placed 15th in 56.42.
Golla was also fastest rider in the club's points league on Tuesday clocking 24.23 for the 11-mile Longwick/Haddenham circuit, just pipping Dave Johnson, who rode 24.37. Third place went to Peter Lightfoot, who was also third in the Middlesex Road Club event on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the club's 2004 Club Champion, Toby Capel, along with his father, John, and Tony Briggs represented the High Wycombe Cycling Club in the Audax UK's National 400km Championship that started near Cheltenham. Toby completed the hilly course in under 24 hours while John and Briggs took 27 hours.
