ACTION in the Cressex Six-A-Side League was fast and furious with teams trading places in the season's penultimate week.
Wycombe Town snatched second spot from FC Beconfield after taking maximum points from their four games.
The winning run began with an 8-0 thrashing of third from bottom AFC Downley A with James Suarez bagging four and Paul Shone, Leigh Mason, Johnny Mason and Mark Austin grabbing one each.
Match two was a much tougher affair against rivals FC Beconfield until Town's Austin secured a 1-0 win and second place.
Victory number three came against play-off hopefuls Kings Head FC, who are desperately looking for the points to guarantee a spot in the qualifiers.
Town had the immediate advantage as their opponents could only field four players, but despite some excellent work from the Kings Head keeper, Suarez eventually found the net.
Their final match was a 1-0 walkover against AFC Totteridge who conceded the game following the postponement four weeks ago.
Marcelo Macedo kept his team FC El Shadai in the hunt for honours by scoring all four goals against Wycombe Hermits in the battle for eighth spot.
The win saw FC El Shadai close the gap on the Hermits who occupy the all-important last qualifying place.
However, that winning feeling was short lived when table-toppers CBF showed their class.
John Isacc, Jamie Charles and Steve White got on the scoresheet to ensure a 3-1 win for the form side with Macedo netting FC El Shadai's consolation.
His team did bounce back though and registered a 2-0 win over AFC Totteridge thanks to another goal from Macedo and one from Jamie Charles.
Following some ups and downs over previous weeks, Tring West End virtually guaranteed themselves a play-off spot by taking seven points from a possible nine.
Bobby Dillon secured a 1-0 win against AFC Totteridge to give his side an excellent start.
Next followed a classic as Tring went head-to-head with old rivals Wycombe Hermits.
Scott Shepherd and Neil Jolly finally won it for Tring, 2-0.
They then showed their gritty side by securing a 0-0 draw against the league leaders, to give them seventh position on 55 points, five clear of Wycombe Hermits in eighth.
