BRIGHT young sports boys and girls took to the field for Danesfield School's sports day.
The event, on Friday, July 8, which was staged for key stage two children, saw around 240 pupils taking part in sprints, relays, obstacle courses, sack races and other team events.
Headteacher Derry Lewis said the sports day had ended with a unique shuttle relay event.
The event saw five boys and girls from each year taking part.
Along with another finale around 160 children were involved in the final events.
Mr Lewis said: "It was a wonderful way to end the afternoon. It had the children working together as a team and it was the biggest team effort the children have ever taken part in."
The house team which scored most points was Wittington, who were the overall winners.
