FORMER West End banker Martin Gould has been appointed to the board of Chesham United as the Southern Premier League club tries to stave off a winding up order.
United are being threatened with the order over by Customs and Excise officials over an unpaid £11,000 tax bill.
Gould has been brought in to use his banking experience to negotiate on the club's behalf.
United director Alan Calder said: "At the moment there's no winding up order but when you are in debt there is that danger."
United are also planning a number of fundraising initiatives for the forthcoming season to assist with the club's finances.
They are also hoping for a cash boost when season tickets go on sale on July 1.
There is a discount for fans booking early.
Calder said: "If we could sell 100 season tickets before the end of July that would pay-off an important £11,000 bill."
Supporters are also rallying round.
Director Steve Wildman is planning to run a marathon, supporters are planning a sponsored walk to Aylesbury and another four fans are planning a mad 24-hour dash around all 22 Southern league Premier Division grounds.
The club have also set up an information and donations line which supporters can call between 7.00pm and 9.00pm on 01494 721892 and anyone wishing to make a donation can send a cheque made payable to Chesham United FC to David Stanley, c/o Chesham United Football club, The Meadow, Amy Lane, Chesham.
Season ticket prices are £125 for adults (Ground Only); £140 adult (Ground & Stand) There are discounts for senior citizens and children.
