LUKE Donald began his bid for his first major title yesterday alongside the best golfer on the planet.
The former Beaconsfield and Hazlemere golfer teed up with Tiger Woods and American Ryder Cup star Chris Di Marco in the US Open at Pinehurst.
The course is regarded as the toughest in the world but is perfectly suited to Donald's straight hitting.
It is not the first time he has played alongside Woods in a major championship. The duo were paired together at the 2003 Open Championship when Donald missed the cut.
They go out together again today at 5.59pm (BST).
