SIMON Shaw makes his first start for the British Lions in their tour of New Zealand tomorrow when the tourists take on the Maoris.
The Wasps lock was a late call-up and he gets his chance to shine in what could well be the Lions' toughest challenge outside of the Tests.
But the Maoris shouldn't be giving any worries to Shaw following his superb display against them for England in their victory during the summer of 2003.
Also in the side is Shaw's Wasps teammates Matt Dawson and Josh Lewsey.
Lewsey begins at full back following his successful two-try appearance against Bay of Plenty.
Dawson makes his first start for the Lions in the current tour and will be looking to impress the teams' head coach Sir Clive Woodward.
The scrum half has a real battle on his hands to win the number nine spot for the Tests following the impressive performances of Dwayne Peel and Chris Cussiter.
