MATT Eyles smashed an unbeaten 120 to inspire Wycombe to a seven wicket win over Basingstoke.
Eyles' superb batting helped keep Wycombe in second spot and keep them in touch with leaders Banbury at the top of Division One of the Home Counties Premier League.
Warriors won the toss and asked Basingstoke to bat. Lee Nurse contributed 101 in a solid middle order batting performance as they reached 103-4.
Lee's brother Danny (36) and Craig Chandler (20) gave the hosts hope as they contributed to vital partnerships of 86 and 24 at the end of the innings.
Early on, Wycombe's Australian bowler Danny Senior (2-65) had helped reduce Basingstoke to just 37-3.
Paul Woodroffe weighed in with 2-41 while Chris Sketchley was also in fine form with the ball as he finished with 2-65.
But it was Robbie Jones (2-25) who eventually took the wicket of Lee Nurse.
In reply, Eyles hit 21 fours and one six as he produced fruitful partnerships with Mark Wright (46) and Jason Harrison (51).
Warriors reached the 100-run mark after only 50 minutes with only Keith Harris (2-56) making any impact in the Basingstoke attack.
The seven-wicket victory moved Wycombe up to second place in the table, just six points behind Banbury, who they visit on Saturday in a mouth-watering top-of-the-table clash.
And on Sunday, Warriors travel to Middlesex County League leaders Ealing in the area semi-final of the National Knockout Cup (1pm start).
