EOIN Reddan says he wants to do a Johnny O'Connor by coming to Wasps and earning a place in the Ireland team.
The scrum half wants to emulate his friend by making his name across the Irish Sea to help him win international honours.
He said: "Every player wants to represent their country and that is one of the reasons why you go to clubs like Wasps.
"They're a massive club with great players and great coaches. You can't but improve at a club like this and in surroundings like this.
"If you''re playing in Ireland but not playing in the big games, you won't be seen.
"You'll become a better player in the long run here and that's what I want to do and then see what happens from here.
"I spoke to Johnny quite a few times in the last few years and it's always been great news. It sounds very exciting.
"I played against Wasps with Connacht and it was a great day."
Reddan, who made 30 appearances for Munster, will be behind British Lion Matt Dawson in the pecking order but is looking forward to working with him.
He said: "It's a big challenge and I'm really looking forward to it.
"There a lot of scrum halves at the club so if Matt's away it's up to one of us to take the opportunities that come our way.
"You're always learning but you want to get on as well.
"You don't want to be making up the numbers forever. I need to work harder and keep going but in the Premiership, there's bigger games so there's more chances than there would have been in the Celtic League."
And the 24-year-old has already impressed one Wasps player.
Hooker Phil Greening said: "When I first heard he was coming, I spoke to Rob Henderson and Ronan O'Gara and they said he was a very talented youngster.
"If it wasn't for Peter Stringer's reputation, he would have made more appearances for Munster.
"I'm very much looking forward to seeing him train and play for us. He's got a massive amount of talent and commitment.
"Matt will help him a tremendous amount. Matt's the sort of player who will take you to one side and help you.
"That's the great atmosphere we've got at Wasps where everybody helps each other, whether you've got 50 caps or no caps at all."
