Dave Johnson recovered from a bad week to take the third veteran's prize at the Hillingdon Triathlon on Sunday.
The High Wycombe Cycling Club member crashed heavily last weekend and followed that with a puncture on Thursday, which forced him to retire from the 10km time trial at Great Missenden.
But Johnson came back to swim 600m, run 6km and cycle 25km to take third place on Sunday, with clubmate Heather Spittles finishing fifth. Spittles also sprinted to tenth overall in the Hillingdon Road Race on Thursday.
