TEAMS are wanted for a new touch rugby summer league.
The competition, which involves minimal contact and places more emphasis on running, passing and ball handling skills, is available to men and women, with the league starting on July 4 at High Wycombe Rugby Club.
The game, which originated in the southern hemisphere, takes place over 40 minutes on half a rugby pitch with six players in a team at any one time out of a squad of ten players.
There is no kicking, lineouts, rucks, mauls or scrums, with each team having six tackles in which to score.
Touches are minimal and any team being overly aggressive in touch rugby will get penalised.
Tries by women are also worth two points so mixed teams are encouraged.
Entries are welcome from companies, sports teams and individuals in the area who are keen to try a new sport this Summer.
