WILL Green said he couldn't think of a better way to leave Wasps after his side won the Zurich Grand Final at Twickenham.
The prop has signed a two-year deal with Leinster after 13-years service with the club but he left the team on a high.
He said: "I can't think of a better send-off.
"Leicester throughout my career have been a bit of a nemesis. I've never won at Welford Road so I'm over the moon that we beat them on the big stage and put a couple of ghosts to rest.
"It was fantastic at the final whistle. We'd been written off all week but there's no doubting that we've proved we're one of the best sides.
"This time last year we were the European Champions so we had that pedigree behind us.
"We proved people wrong and we gave Leicester a right hiding. We worked very hard the whole time and we got our just reward."
But the fact that Green won't be playing for Wasps any more doesn't mean he won't still feel part of the club.
He said: "I'll always look out for Wasps. It's been my home for 13 years and I've been very fortunate to be involved.
"There's a certain honesty about the place. There are no heroes, we just work for each other and we're very lucky we've got that.
"I'm never been at other clubs but I'm told they don't have that. I love it and I'm a very lucky person.
"For my whole life, I'll be looking out for the Wasps results. I'm very passionate about this place and I want it to become a super club in Europe."
Meanwhile, replacement winger Rob Hoadley said the team were doing all they could to give Green and outgoing coach Warren Gatland the win.
He said: "To see Will Green and Warren at the end of the game was brilliant. I've only been there a year but I take great pride in seeing what we've achieved for them.
"This was a victory for them. You saw the ovation for Will and Gats and you can't think of a better send-off. I sat down with Will afterwards and I was so happy for him."
