JONNY Wilkinson could be given a run for his money in the future if these young rugby players have anything to say about it.
Children from primary schools across Marlow got together for a tournament on Wednesday, May 11, leaving school work behind for the majority of the afternoon.
The tournament, at Marlow Rugby Club in Riverwoods Drive, saw children from years three, four, and five take part in group stages, before two from each group eventually qualified for the knockouts.
The tournament was staged as part of the club's community programme in schools, which aims to bring rugby down to grass-roots level by getting children involved.
It was organised by newly crowned Marlow Sports Personality of the Year 2005, and captain of the club, Jaksa Lovreta.
"It was great," he said. "We have schools from all over Marlow here. The teams who lost at the start played a competition between themselves so it was good.
"And the standard has been good."
The 17 teams played 14-minute games, with Burford School eventually reigning victorious over Spinfield in the final.
