KARATE: High Wycombe fighters won three gold medals as the UK Seido Karate Organisation celebrated its 20th anniversary with a successful tournament at the Wycombe Judo Centre on Sunday.
More than 160 competitors of all ages took part from clubs as far afield as Cornwall.
High Wycombe junior Ben McCarthy, nine, won gold in the free form event, while Karen Babb took the same colour medal in the women's light middleweight contest. Postman Nigel Plummridge delivered another gold for the town in the adult beginner's free form event.
The second part of the anniversary celebrations will take place in September when the Chairman of the organisation and world famous karate master, Kaicho T. Nakamura will be the special guests of honour at an international tournament in High Wycombe featuring teams from Germany, Italy, Jamaica and the USA competing against Seido UK members.
