WASPS made it through to the Zurich Final for the third year running thanks to a super second half against Sale on Saturday.

Trailing 22-17 at the break, Wasps scored 26 unanswered points to seal their place in Saturday's final at Twickenham against Leicester Tigers.

The match started with Wasps stalwart Will Green leading the troops out in his final home game for the club before his move to Leinster.

But Sale were out to prove party poopers and Charlie Hodgson landed a penalty to draw first blood.

Wasps showed they were in no mood to give up their title and should have gone ahead on six minutes when their pressure resulted in a big overlap on the left.

Josh Lewsey fed Mark van Gisbergen and the full back looked a dead cert to score but he dropped the ball with the try-line at his mercy.

Alex King was in a less forgiving mood and he landed a drop goal to put Wasps level.

But Wasps shot themselves in the foot to hand the lead straight back to Sale when Simon Shaw dropped the re-start, Jason White picked up and Sebastien Chabal took it on to score a converted try.

Wasps were enjoying most of the play but committing too many mistakes but they finally got their act together on 22 minutes with a superb try.

Flanker Tom Rees started it with a break from his own 22, with van Gisbergen and Paul Sackey carrying the move on. After a series of drives towards the Sale line, Wasps created an overlap and Rees finished off the move he had started.

It then got better three minutes later with a fabulous score by Lewsey.

The centre showed why he's a British Lion by receiving the ball from deep inside his 22 and accelerating past two defenders.

Only fellow Lion Jason Robinson stood in his way but Lewsey breezed past him on his way to scoring under the posts for a sensational score, converted by van Gisbergen.

That should have been the start of Wasps' dominance but they dropped another clanger when Ayoola Erinle failed to hold onto the ball when chasing his own kick through.

And Sale got right back into the game when Robert Todd raced through the Wasps backline before passing to White who scored.

Sale nearly grabbed the lead on 35 minutes when Robinson raced over but play was brought back after the touch judge ruled Chabal had pushed Matt Dawson, when Chabal was more sinned against than sinner.

The Cheshire side shrugged off that set-back to score their third try when Richard Wrigglesworth on for the injured Hodgson kicked across field and Mark Cueto won the race for the ball to land his 11th try of the season in the league.

Wasps came out after the break in determined mood and van Gisbergen landed a penalty to make it 22-20.

The forwards then came into their own with a series of rolling mauls that had Sale on the back foot. Chabal illegally collapsed one on the Sale line but Wasps spun the ball out wide and King released Erinle to score a simple try.

Van Gisbergen kept the scoreboard ticking with another penalty before Wasps gave themselves breathing space with their fourth try of the afternoon when King burst through a gap and fed Shaw who had the easiest run-in to score.

There was still time for Sale replacement Sililo Martens to be yellow carded for delaying the ball while van Gisbergen scored two more penalties to make sure of victory.
