FC BEACONSFIELD regained their Premier Division title after beating title rivals Wycombe Town 5-1 in a winner-takes-all clash.
A 4-0 midweek victory for FC Beaconsfield over King George V, courtesy of goals from Andrew Alexander, Billy Gray, Adrian Smith and Delroy Howell set up the May Day title decider at Holtspur.
Both sides boasted an unbeaten league record going into the game, but FC Beaconsfield knew that just a draw would mean that they regained their Premier league title.
With both sides knowing that the first goal of the game was going to be very important, it was no surprise that after a nervy opening 20 minutes of the clash there had been no goals.
Becky's Adrian Smith eventually broke the deadlock with a cross-cum- shot from the left hand side to send his team in ahead at the break.
Beaconsfield doubled their advantage minutes after the restart thanks to Colin Stephens who tricked his way past a couple of defenders before firing in a shot which was fumbled across the line by the Town keeper.
Wycombe reacted by pushing their centre back forward as an extra striker exposing themselves at the back whilst providing additional fire power and they were in further trouble when they conceded a penalty which Smith converted for his second of the game.
Ex-Town player Andy Young then ended his old team's hopes with an unstoppable volley to make it 4-0 before Town grabbed one back. However, it was substitute Delroy Howell who had the last say for Beaconsfield with a solo effort worthy of the champions tag.
