FORMER Blues ace Darren Currie is one game away from the Premiership The 30-year-old looked as if he was going to see out his career as a journeyman midfielder until Ipswich splashed out £250,000 to give him the opportunity of reaching the Premiership when they plucked him from Brighton. The two meet on Sunday in a clash which could see Ipswich promoted and Brighton relegated.
But Currie who was bombed out of Wycombe on a free transfer by Tony Adams says he won't let sympathy get in the way of his dream as his team try and pip Wigan to automatic promotion.
He said: "I'm an Ipswich player now and that is the most important thing. I have the opportunity on Sunday of fulfilling a lifelong ambition and I won't let anything get in the way of that."
