BRISTOLIAN Joe Burnell is confident he will be fit for tomorrow's final game of the season at Bristol Rovers but Keith Ryan and Rob Lee have lost their fitness battles.

Blues also have doubts over keeper Frank Talia (groin), Player of the Year Nathan Tyson (dead leg) and Ian Stonebridge (ankle) for the trip west. Talia and Tyson were hoping to train yesterday and manager John Gorman will leave it as late as he can before making a decision.

If Talia doesn't make it, Lance Cronin and Steve Williams will fight it out for the number one jersey.

Gorman will also leave it late before deciding whether Burnell - a former Bristol City captain and self-confessed Bristol City fan will be risked for the clash against his team's cross-city rivals.

Burnell said: "I'm keeping everything crossed. This is a massive game for me and I would love to play in it. I've still got a place in Bristol and the rivalry between the two clubs is fierce.

"A lot of my mates are City fans and they have got tickets for the match and I also know a lot of Rovers fans as well. It is the last game of the season and it would be nice to be able to go out in Bristol with my head held high.

"If we lose I know I will get a lot of stick in Bristol off the Rovers fans."

Burnell took a whack on the leg during Wanderers' 3-2 win over Orient on Saturday and hobbled out of the action at half time. He has been having treatment all week and was due to test his fitness in training for the first time yesterday.

He said: "I think I've got a good chance. I would say it's 65 per cent in my favour."

Blues have played Rovers twice already this season and Burnell missed both of them through injury, now he is hoping it will be third time lucky.

Gorman is hoping all his key men will be fit as he bids to end the season with a victory.

He said: "I would like to finish the season on a high. We want to get our tenth away win of the season. That would be a tremendous achievement."
