NEWLY-CROWNED Player of the Year Nathan Tyson has pledged his future to Wycombe Wanderers despite interest from Manchester City and Luton.
The 22-goal former England youth international says he won't be submitting a transfer request or asking his agent to engineer a move even though Wanderers will spend another year in the basement division after their play-off hopes were finally extinguished on Saturday.
Blues did their job by beating Leyton Orient 3-2 but Northampton's victory at Chester and Darlington's draw with Lincoln sealed their fate.
But Tyson said: "I'm happy here. The interest from other clubs is flattering and if the club decide to accept a bid that's up to them, but I'm not looking to go anywhere."
Blues turned down a bid from League One champions Luton before transfer deadline day and with Wanderers having missed out on the play-offs this season, clubs are expected to hover around Tyson this summer.
But the goal ace said: "I will be quite happy to still be here next season to try and win promotion but funny things happen in football. It is not all down to me but I certainly won't be putting in a transfer request.
"I've got another year left on my contract and I expect to be here. I didn't even know anything about the Luton interest until my dad heard it on the radio. I'm overwhelmed by it, but as far as I'm concerned I'm still a Wycombe player.
"I'm disappointed that we haven't made the play-offs but it doesn't change anything for me.
"I think we can definitely get promoted next season. Perhaps this season might even have been a bit too soon, but we will have a real go at it next season and I'm looking forward to being part of it."
Tyson was presented with the club's Player of the Year Trophy on the pitch before Saturday's last home game of the season but his day turned sour when he left the field on a stretcher with a dead leg following a collision with Orient keeper Lee Harrison.
Tyson pipped last year's winner Roger Johnson to the title and was presented with the Bucks Free Press-sponsored trophy by Free Press readers Melissa Wicks and Christie Gater.
Tyson said: "It's fantastic and I would like to thank all the fans who've voted for me. I'm chuffed to bits I didn't think I'd get it. I'm overwhelmed by it all."
Tyson also won the Independent Supporters Player of the Year trophy for the second year with Johnson taking the Official Supporters club prize.
