HIGH Wycombe badminton star Chris Wright is set to benefit from National Lottery funding and a place with England's elite training squad.
The England junior international has been selected to join the Badminton Association's World Class Start programme which has just secured Lottery funding.
The programme is designed to fast-track the country's best young players and help produce the Olympic champions of the future.
He will receive the best coaching and advice under the tuition of head coach Jens Gill and will attend regular training camps and tournaments.
The selection is just reward for the Hughenden Valley youngster who won a doubles silver in Denmark on one of his four appearances for England.
Wright celebrated his elevation to the world class programme by wiping the board at an under-15 event in Sussex last weekend, where he won three gold medals.
