Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson said his side are 'failing miserably' as they lost 3-1 away to Wycombe Wanderers.

The Posh had taken the lead through Ricky-Jade Jones but a hat-trick inside 10 second-half minutes by substitute Richard Kone gave the Chairboys all three points, as they made it eight league games unbeaten.

Ferguson's team, at the time of writing, have conceded the most goals in the league this season with 24, and are yet to keep a clean sheet.

They have also conceded three goals in four of their last six matches in League One.

Speaking at full-time, the Scotsman said: “This is not good enough and we need to be honest here.

“We’re failing miserably at the moment in terms of one part of the pitch in particular, but it is my responsibility to improve.

“It’s not plain sailing as a manager, but you need to find that desire and find a way to continue putting in that extra work.

“Sometimes is about the desire in keeping the ball out of the net and the first goal we conceded is appalling.

“We need to be honest here – we are way off.

“If you keep conceding three goals a game, you’re going to be in trouble.”

Wycombe next play Peterborough in the league in March.
