Wycombe Wanderers have completed the signing of Ipswich Town midfielder Cameron Humphreys on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old, who has made a handful of appearances for the Tractor Boys’ first team since making his debut three years ago, becomes Matt Bloomfield side’s 10th summer signing of the window.
He arrives following stiff competition for his signature, as the youngster had also been linked with Peterborough United.
🚨 I understand that Ipswich are 'weighing up the options' to see if Cameron Humphreys will join Wycombe or Peterborough.

Both clubs had a loan offer accepted last week.
Have been also told that 'both clubs would be a good move for him'.#Chairboys
Both the Posh and Wycombe had loan offers accepted by the newly-promoted Premier League outfit, with the club ‘weighing up options’ to see which side would be the better fit for Humphreys.
In the end, he has opted to join the Chairboys, and could make his Wanderers debut in the upcoming league match against Rotherham United on Saturday at Adams Park.
Speaking on his arrival to Buckinghamshire, Bloomfield said: “Cam is a player we’ve looked at for some time and have tried to bring in previously, so we’re really pleased that we’ve been able to get the deal done.
On paper, a solid bit of business by Bloomfield who has used his Ipswich links.

He did say last season that the way he wants to take the club forward is by using loans from Premier League clubs.

“He’s an excellent talent on the ball who’ll give us another dimension in the middle of the park, and the data shows he will adapt well to other positions too, so we’re looking forward to seeing how he progresses over the season with us.”
Humphreys has been given the number 20 shirt, which was last worn by Nottingham Forest striker, Dale Taylor.
Previous players to also don the shirt include legends such as Alfie Mawson and Adebayo Akinfenwa.
The deal remains subject to EFL and FA approval.
